Fragments

Fragments turns the absence of a single unifying idea into its central concept, assembling varied musical pieces into a record about searching, transition and the possibility of a new direction.

Searching through fragments

Fragments takes its name and structure from a collection of small, contrasting pieces. The material was not created around a shared theme; instead, fragmentation itself became the album's organising principle. The result documents a period of searching and discovery in which incomplete ideas, changing perspectives and stylistic detours are allowed to coexist.

This openness makes the album an important transition in the development of The Modular Beat. Its variety does not resolve into a single statement, but it points towards the darker and more focused direction that would shape the following release. What first appears scattered gradually reveals the creative value of uncertainty.

The lyrics approach the human being as a seeker moving between inner perception, isolation and the desire for belonging. Natural spaces, cosmic distance and imagined interiors become symbolic landscapes for memory, identity and orientation. These different settings suggest the same unsettled movement: away from familiar ground and towards a place that has not yet been found.

Rather than telling linear stories, the writing relies on recurring images, repetition and open associations. Light, distance, movement and empty landscapes create atmospheric spaces in which alienation can exist alongside curiosity and hope. The texts remain deliberately unresolved, inviting personal interpretation and giving the album the quality of a series of musical dreamscapes.
